The Rebuilt Woman

Frequently Asked Questions

Due to COVID-19, I am primarily seeing clients via confidential, HIPAA-compliant telemedicine. However, depending on client needs, I am also offering some in-person and in-home sessions.

I do not work directly with any insurance plans. If needed, however, I will provide the necessary documentation for you to file for out-of-network reimbursement. Please contact your insurance provider prior to your first appointment to verify out-of-network benefits for reimbursement.

I accept cash, credit card, PayPal or HSA cards.

This depends on your needs and goals. During your initial evaluations, we will discuss your background, what brought you to therapy, and what you hope to gain from it. Together, we will set realistic goals and work towards them. Depending on the complexity of your situation, you may feel better after only a few sessions, or you may need longer support. Whatever the case, you are in the driver’s seat and I am here as long as you need assistance.

I am a board-certified psychiatric/mental health nurse practitioner with full prescriptive authority and am able to prescribe psychiatric medications as needed. Before prescribing medications, however, a full evaluation must be completed. Then we will discuss the best path forward for you and determine together if medication is appropriate for your individual situation. Please visit the services page for my philosophy regarding medications in the treatment of recovery from PTSD, trauma and abuse.
Our first session will be spent reviewing your paperwork and I will ask questions about your syptoms and reasons for beginning therapy. We’ll discuss your goals and challenges you face that you would like to overcome. Based on the information I gather, we’ll begin to make a plan for how we can best work together to help you reach your goals. In follow up sessions, we will move at your pace. I will never pressure you to discuss anything you aren’t comfortable with. I’m committed to be here to support and guide you on your healing journey. I know facing some things can be scary, but I will ensure a safe space where you will not judged. For true healing, you must also be committed to the process. You may have homework outside of our sessions that is intended to help you continue to grow and cope between sessions. It’s important for you to be an active participant in reaching your goals.
