About Traci

Traci Powell, MSN, PMHNP-BC

Do you find yourself struggling to manage life? Are there times when you feel like a mature, responsible adult, and then suddenly you feel overwhelmed, emotional, angry, or less than adequate? Do you struggle with ongoing “chatter” or negative self-talk that prevents you from focusing? Or maybe you have days that are really good, but then find yourself stuck in days that feel really bad and you don’t understand why.

If any of these describe you, then you have come to the right place. I specialize in helping you overcome the barriers that prevent you from living up to your fullest potential. These barriers are often related to past wounding experiences that can get stuck in your brain and leave you susceptible to becoming emotionally activated.  When this happens, you can act in ways that do not align with your true values and character. This behavior often results in frustration and disappointment, causing problems in your life and relationships. If you are ready to move beyond this frustrating dynamic, then join me as we explore the root causes of the internal battle you’re living with to quickly move towards overcoming these problems.

It may not feel like it, but you have everything you need within you to heal.

Perhaps at this point, you are thinking, “I have been in therapy before, and it didn’t work.”  I completely understand your skepticism. However, I approach therapy differently.  Traditional talk therapy is beneficial in identifying how to manage difficult behaviors and feelings but does not get to the root of the problem that is causing those behaviors and feelings to begin with.  I am skilled at helping you discover the source of your problems.  Then through cutting-edge and evidenced-based approaches, such as Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR) and ego state therapy, I can assist your brain in using its own built-in healing mechanisms to heal the root of your problems, and when healing happens at the root,  your anxiety and depression symptoms naturally improve.  Using these techniques, your brain can file away past experiences, so they are no longer activated in the present.

In addition, to help you have accelerated results so you can get on with living a life of peace and joy,  therapy needs to be more structured and personalized in an extended format.  For this reason, I tailor my practice for you to reserve large blocks of time where we focus specifically on you and your needs.  The time reserved can be anywhere from 6 hours to 3 days (18 hours).  I have found that 6 hours of intensive therapy equals up to 3 months of once-a-week therapy.

It’s my mission to empower you to get to know your authentic self so that you can heal the parts of you stuck in old wounds and rebuild into the mother, sister, friend, partner or _________ (fill in the blank) you dream of being. Are you ready to live and not just survive?

What Clients Say

"I want to thank you for helping me finally move on from things I thought I would never get over. I am so grateful for your guidance and skill. I continue to be inspired by your words of wisdom and truly appreciate having a safe space where I can get to know the real me."

"I had the opportunity to do some inner healing work in an intensive format with Traci recently and will be ever grateful for her therapeutic guidance in helping me to integrate and transcend past traumas. While I continue to be a work in progress, I have observed greater self-trust and inner contentment now. My subconscious mind is cooperating compassionately and disrupting the old mechanical patterns that have long held me in a prison of CPTSD anxiety. Through parts work, I am gradually but distinctly able to “see”, heal and validate and my wounded selves and nurture without judgement. This inner work has helped me see my outer self as whole and given me the grace to accept myself as I am – not as a broken person, scarred by abuse but as a beautiful person, thriving successfully, inspite of it."
